Project Partnerships

As a part of our mission to ‘Cure Cancer Together’ we believe that partnerships play a vital role in advancing the field of surgical oncology. Explore the projects we’re engaged in and our collaborations with other scientific societies to advance research, education, and patient care initiatives

INTERACT Europe

INTERACT-EUROPE 100 is a flagship initiative of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan to provide new standards in teamwork in every cancer centre in Europe. This EU co-funded initiative allows various professional specialties across Europe to train together, improving collaboration and patient care through the creation of an Inter-Specialty Cancer Training Programme, which will follow the inter-specialty curriculum developed under INTERACT-EUROPE, the initial phase of the project. ESSO is an active partner of INTERACT-EUROPE 100 and will be responsible for the development of the surgical content of the training programme.

Rare Cancers Working Group (RCWG)

The Rare Cancers Working Group (former Rare Cancers Europe) has been established as a partnership of cooperating stakeholders with the scope to place the issue of rare cancers firmly on the European policy agenda, to identify and promote appropriate solutions, and exchange best practice.

ESSO has been an active member of RCWG since its creation. Professor Alessandro Gronchi, ESSO board member is a member of RCWG Steering Committee, representing the Scientific Societies and Healthcare Providers.
