In 2000, Carine joined ECCO-the European CanCer Organisation as Societies Co-ordinator. In 2006, she started working for ESSO part-time, while keeping a number of responsibilities within ECCO. From January 2014 onwards, Carine has been working for ESSO for full time as Chief Operating Officer.

Ana joined ESSO in February 2013 as Education Co-ordinator, in charge of the organisation and coordination of the society’s educational events. In 2017 she was promoted to Education Manager.

Gemma became the Society Administrator for ESSO in 2011 on a part time basis and then the Society and Membership Co-ordinator. She was responsible for the ESSO membership, the Young Surgeons Alumni Club, the ESSO website, the meet the expert webinars and assisted in the daily running of the society which includes organisation of

Majored in Cultural&Creative Industries and German, GAO Shuang started her professional life in Brussels after graduating from KCL, gaining experience in press, digital economy, and public service domain. She joined ESSO in November 2021 as Communication & Events coordinator, in charge of ESSO's overall communication activities

Maria joined ESSO in October 2021 as a Project & Communication Assistant. She is in charge of ESSO's overall communication.

Dante joined ESSO in January 2024. He is in the main lead on organising the annual ESSO Congress.

Maria joined ESSO in March 2025 as an assistant to the Education Manager and Education Coordinator.
