We encompass a community of over 4,000 members (individuals and affiliated) including a growing cohort of young ESSO members.
Research
Through the ESSO Research Academy, ESSO fosters research excellence by facilitating and endorsing surgical oncology projects across Europe and beyond.
Education & training
We offer courses and webinars for junior and senior surgeons, ensuring continuous learning and development.
Leading publication
Our monthly Scientific Journal, EJSO (European Journal of Surgical Oncology), allows readers to stay at the forefront of surgical oncology research.
Collaboration
ESSO fosters a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care through active partnerships with societies within the European Cancer Organisation (ECO), collaboration with the European Board of Surgery of the UEMS, and engagement with leading oncology organisations.
Annual Congress
We organise the largest surgical oncology congress in Europe, providing an opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaboration among Surgical Oncology professionals.
Advocacy
Our society is dedicated to promoting the value of surgical oncology in cancer care. We advocate at the EU level for the recognition of surgical oncology as a specialty and harmonized training in surgical oncology across Europe.
