Aim of the course

Course Objectives

  • Equip participants with fundamental and advanced knowledge of ultrasound techniques
  • Introduce the use of intraoperative ultrasound for breast cancer in clinical setting and at outpatient department
  • Provide hands-on training in ultrasound-guided surgical techniques and localization technologies.
  • Enhance knowledge about alternative localization techniques, margin assessment and handling clinical cases in breast surgery.

Educational methods

  • Theoretical Lectures: Covering fundamentals and advanced concepts (e.g., IOUS in neoadjuvant settings).
  • Practical Sessions: Hands-on training with phantom models and live demonstrations (e.g., lumpectomy, localization techniques).
  • Case-Based Discussions: Clinical cases to contextualize theoretical knowledge
  • Interactive Q&A: Sessions to address participants' specific queries and challenges.
