Doctor José Volders trained at Radboud University Medical Center and Rijnstate Hospital in the Netherlands and obtained her degree of PhD in 2018 with her thesis entitled ‘Cosmetic outcome and patient satisfaction: ongoing challenges in breast conserving therapy’. During her surgical traineeship she co-developed and participated in the Topclass Medical Education from the Radboudumc Health Academy. From 2020-2021 she obtained a fellowship in Surgical oncology in Gelre Hospitals. As a board member of the Dutch Breast Surgery Working group, research and education are an important area of interest for her.
